SO IT WOULD BE A CITIZEN, UH, MAKING A COMPLAINT.
SO IT'S NOT INCUMBENT ON US TO GO OUT AND ENFORCE THAT, BUT WE WILL BE IN A POSITION, BETTER POSITION TO RESPOND TO COMPLAINTS THAT MAKE, BUT EVEN IF IT'S NOT A, A HU A HUD HOME, IS THAT, 'CAUSE I'M TALKING, YOU KNOW, JUST YOUR REGULAR LANDLORDS IN ON FIVE AND SIX 10,000.

SO BASED ON THE CERTIFIED VALUES THAT WE RECEIVED FROM THE JOHNSON COUNTY CENTRAL APPRAISAL DISTRICT, THE CITY'S NO NEW REVENUE RATE IS 80 CENTS.
AND THE NO NEW REVENUE RATE IS THE RATE THAT WOULD GENERATE THE SAME AMOUNT OF, OF, UH, PROPERTY TAXES AS LAST YEAR.
IF WE COMPARE THE PROPERTIES TAXED IN BOTH YEARS, THE VOTER APPROVAL TAX RATE IS THE RATE THAT PROVIDES 3.5% MORE ON M AND O OR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS, UH, TAX RATE.
AND THAT IS THE PORTION THAT GOES INTO THE GENERAL FUND.
AND THEN BECAUSE THE CITY HAS A POPULATION OF LESS THAN 30,000, WE ALSO QUALIFY TO CALCULATE THE DI MINIMIS RATE AND THAT GIVES US $500,000 MORE IN TAXES THAN LAST YEAR.
SO THE VOTER APPROVAL RATE IS ALMOST 89 CENTS AND THE DIMINISHED RATE IS 93 CENTS.
AND THESE WERE CALCULATED BY THE JOHNSON COUNTY TAX OFFICE.
SO THE NO NEW REVENUE RATE THAT WE ADOPTED LAST YEAR IS THE SAME 80.08610.
SO THE CURRENT TAX RATE IS 78 CENTS, 78 2 5 7 2.
SO, UM, AND THE NO NEW REVENUE, EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS NO NEW REVENUE, IT IS NEW REVENUE ON THE NEW HOUSES THAT ARE BEING BUILT THAT WEREN'T ON THE TAX ROLL FOR LAST YEAR, BUT WE'LL BE ON THE TAX ROLL FOR THIS YEAR.
WE WILL GET ADDITIONAL REVENUE.
FROM, SO WE, IT'S NOT LIKE WE'RE GETTING NO NEW REVENUE, WE'RE GETTING

RIGHT? REMEMBER THAT SOUND FAMILIAR? THEY WERE UNFUNDED, BUT THEY'RE AUTHORIZED BECAUSE THERE'S SO MUCH TURNOVER IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, IT'S HARD TO RECRUIT THEM.

SO, AND COUNCIL CAN VOTE HOWEVER YOU WANT TO TONIGHT.
I JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT COUNCIL KNOWS THAT I RECOMMENDATION IS THE 8.89.

SO THAT FIVE, WHATEVER THE NUMBER, WHATEVER THE TAX RATE IS SET AT THE DOWNTOWN GETS 75% OF THAT INCREASE OF THAT TUR.
SO WHATEVER THE TAX RATE IS, WE WILL JUST CHANGE HOW MUCH MONEY WE'LL GO INTO THAT.
SO IT'S A 75% OF THE INCREASE.
TAX INCREMENT BY IS THE INCREMENT THAT'S HIGHER THAN THE BASE.
SO AS A RESULT OF THAT, THERE'S NOT AN IMPACT IN THIS FIFTH IN THIS TAX YEAR BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT THE, UM, LAW WILL CONSIDER THE, THE BASE YEAR, WHATEVER IS MEASURED THIS YEAR, THEN THE INCRE INCREMENTS ARE MEASURED FROM THIS YEAR FORWARD.
SO WE WON'T ACTUALLY SEE MONEY FROM THAT TILL PROBABLY 2027.

AND SO THERE'S NOT MOTIONS AND ACTIONS AND AIS OR NAYS THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH IT.
THEY'RE ADVISORY BOARDS AND THOSE ARE MORE COMMUNITY WIDE.
